Child Support

Child support is mandated by the State of Florida. The statute has calculated totals set in place, and your child support plan will be based on these factors. The initial calculation considers the incomes of both parties, the number of children, custody and visitation plans, and additional costs, such as healthcare. Post divorce modifications to your plan can be made based on a change in the needs of your children or a substantial financial change for one or both parents.

Spousal Support/Alimony

Spousal support, or alimony, unlike child support, is not mandated by the state. Every case is different, and we will analyze your situation to help you understand how it may be affected by spousal support. Alimony is generally awarded on a permanent basis for marriages longer than fifteen years. However, it can be awarded for marriages that did not last as long as well. The court will consider gross incomes, number of children, and health care costs. Modifications for spousal support are available as well.
